We're glad you took a moment to visit our table and show interest in getting involved with the mesh. If you’re looking for more information, that can be found at our website nycmesh.net, in our FAQ, or on our Slack.


For those interested in getting their home or apartment connected to the mesh:

The first step of joining the mesh is filling out our Join Form at nycmesh.net/join. This will get your install on our map and we'll reply with instructions on the next steps. If there isn’t already a node at your address, we will ask you to take photos from your roof to verify you are able to get connected.

We offer both volunteer led (similar to a typical home internet install) or DIY (purchase and install the equipment yourself, with our help) install paths.

For those interested in volunteering:

Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Here's the first steps you can take to get involved:

  • Join our Slack – Slack is our main form of communication. Introduce yourself in the #general channel, and check out #meetings, #volunteer, and #new-volunteer-onboarding for more information on getting involved.

  • Join our Open Mesh Nights every Tuesday 6pm - late(ish) at 53 Bridge St, Unit 509. Open Mesh Night is our weekly meetup to work on current projects, meet other volunteers, and hangout in the mesh room.

NYC Mesh is a decentralized organization with many different opportunities to get involved. The options above are suggested, but not required to volunteer.
